I think changing Harpers nickname from goober to Gluber might be the most appropriate thing to do. Yesterday I was working on making scrapbooks for the holidays for my long term boyfriends and my families. I bought a pack of elamers photo glue and glue sticks and left them out on the middle of my coffee table like an idiot! In the process of hanging up clothes. Harper was fast asleep at the time I went upstairs, I come downstairs 7 minutes later to find the top to a glue pen which layed 10 inches away from a chewed up glue stick. The glue dries clear and I assumed Harper ate it but she seemed fine the rest of the day. This morning while it was raining outside she put her face in a puddle of mud while sniffing for the perfect place to go potty! The mud perfectly highlighted the glue that was stuck to her hair all around her mouth!!! I initially thought it was gum and then I remembered what happened yesterday! Regardless! lesson learned... Now to figure out if there is a way to get it out or do i need to cut it/ take her to a groomer! Hopefully doodle nation can help me to work through this one!

Lori - I'm sorry I don't have any answers but I can't stop laughing at the picture of the mud around her mouth, glued on!  I'm not sure what would dissolve the glue that would possibly be safe for Gluber.......I'm thinking it will need to be cut.  Let us know!

If you can still read the stick in might be water soluble, whatever, that is a story to remember

uh oh!  according to the almighty google search engine:

Elmer’s glue dries fairly quickly and can leave a sticky mess in hair. Usually, glue ends up in hair by accident, although some people have used Elmer’s school glue as an alternative for hair gel, especially for hair styles requiring strong hold (such as a Mohawk). The glue is water soluble, which means you shouldn’t need special chemical products to remove it from your hair. It will take more time than a normal shampooing, however, so you will need to be patient.

So I would say, start shampooing!  Good luck to you and Gluber!

I am laughing so hard that Harper has created her own Mohawk. Such a clever doodle!
