Does anyone use or know of a safe gnat repellent for our doodles?  They are so horrible around here right now, and they just swarm Millie. :(

Thank you!

1. Could you bathe Millie more often this time of year. Maybe a neutral smelling shampoo I think that might help best.
2. Use a baby wipe to her bottom to clean off any waste that remains that gnats are attracted to.
3. Same for the face after eating. Wipe if off. Here, in the heat, playing in a baby pool really cleans off the face and coat without dealing with harsh shampooing.

To just rid them around your kitchen, of course, emptying the trash just after preparing fruits and veggies is the main way, but I do use a home recipe ( I never use sprays)
I'll have to search the Internet for the recipe when I get home, or maybe you can now.
I remember it was little Dixie cups, Dawn Dish Soap, and...... I forget :)

I love those little cups I make and those work great in my garden for insects there too. I'll look up the recipe tonight

OOH OOH-I want the recipe too!  Those gnats are like Velcro to Myla's fro!! I have to clip her hair to take her potty!

Oh Joanne, don't leave us hanging! I need to check out that home recipe too.

Gnats absolutely swarm Goldie's face when she's outside and she's always pawing at them. They only bother her face- nowhere else on her body.

Thank you for the suggestions!  Especially the baby wipe on her bottom.  Most of them were there, but she still had plenty in other places.  She just had a bath a couple days ago too.  I'd hate to see if she hadn't had a bath!  :(  She seemed pretty un-phased by them at least, but they were so bad...GRR..  We were at my son's ball game when they wouldn't leave her alone.

Apple cider vinegar with dish soap, about an inch of vinegar and a couple drops of dish soap.  The internet is full of ideas if that does not work...yellow cardboard with Vaseline smeared on it.  Apple cider vinegar alone with plastic wrap pulled over it and tiny holes punched in, gnats get in but can't get out.
