going on vacation: my dog is superattached. How to make it easier for him.

I'm going away for a week. Angus is very attached to me.  My son and daughter-in-law will be staying at my house with their dog (like a big brother to Angus) while I'm gone.  How can I make it less stressful for him?

How pathetic is this, we can't leave Hunter, we blame it on her and say she has seperation anxiety but really its me and my husband. We traded in our vacations for a 35 ft travel trailer so we don't have to leave her! Can you say PUSH OVERS???!! LOL
My feeling on this is that you seem to really enjoy her company. She'll be fine while you're on vacation without her, if she feels safe with her caregivers. Angus was fine the week I was in Santa Fe. And I'm going to England in Oct. for at least a week. He'll be fine. If your vacation will be more enjoyable by including her, then by all means, do it!
I have one dog that really has problems with separation. He howls when we leave him in the RV for a few hours, he won't eat when my DH periodically takes HIM to college with him for a few days (Gordie has a great time chasing the frisbee players, sitting in the classes with my DS, lounging with the guys) but he won't eat. I find myself dreading RV trips and sightseeing!
