Goldendoodle Hot Spots

Our Derby stayed at his groomer/kennel over the holidays for five days. When we picked him up, I noticed "something" was going on with his skin. A quick trip to the vet revealed a "hot spot." We have applied the prescribed topical medication for the last 9 days and he now has a crusty type scab in the area. Is this typical or should we take him back to he vet to be re-checked??

The scabbing is normal, it's part of the healing process. Be sure to prevent him from licking or otherwise disturbing the area until it's completely healed and the scab falls off on its own.
