Labradoodle & Goldendoodle Forum
What are the differences between Goldendoodles and Labradoodles? Preference? Size? Shedding? Coat colors?
So far I have only been searching for Goldendoodle puppies, but perhaps I should be looking at both?
Any info that Doodle parents can share would be great!

Oh my gosh your Gracie sounds absolutely fantastic! Sounds like perfect size, perfect coat, and perfect disposition.
Sorry!
It's totally my fault!
I have been asking people where they got their doodles as I try to search for a good breeder. I will be sure to use private messages from now on. I wasn't really sure of the rules on this site. But I know now. :-)
Yes, do check out both breeds. After having poodles for 30 years, I decided I wanted to get a doodle when our elderly shepherd died leaving our standard poodle alone. He was depressed as most dogs are who are raised with a companion dog. My BIL said to check out Doodles and I ended up getting a F1 labradoodle (best dog I have EVER had). When the old poodle died, I got a F1b phantom goldendoodle puppy to keep the labradoodle company and when the labradoodle died (too early) we got an Australian labradoodle as our next dog.
The differences that I have noticed is that the goldendoodles tend to have a little longer (and more) hair than the labradoodles. Colors really vary. The labradors come in several colors and there are many colors (and sizes) for poodles so you can get more mixes with Labradoodles than with Goldendoodles. The golden retriever just has one (beautiful) color and you can get some variation with the poodle colors. Size? I prefer the personality of the standard poodles, but breeders seem to be breeding more these days with the miniature poodles because of size. My goldendoodle is 30 inches tall, so he is a big one (larger than both his parents). The ALD is smaller (about 50 pounds) and a real ball of energy. They both need lots of exercise and we get out several times a week for walks or bike rides. Take a look on my page at the photos and you can see all three dogs. Shedding? None of my dogs have been shedders which really helps for an in-house dog.
Let me know if you want any other information. Enjoy your search for the perfect dog. There are so many out there and you might also consider a rehome or rescue. There are advantages to all of them and I am sure you will be very satisfied with these breeds.
