Labradoodle & Goldendoodle Forum
Hi everyone! I just took Chloe for her first vet visit and am a little worried about her having doodle in her. The vet thought she was a pure bred Golden Retriever and said she had never seen a Goldendoodle puppy with such straight hair. I'm wondering if anyone else with an F1 doodle had the same issue. I know there is a chance with an F1 for them to have dominant Golden traits, but just want to make sure I'm not alone. I love her dearly and would never return her if there was a mistake made at the breeder, but there was a littler of Golden Retrievers born 2 weeks before Chloe. The picture is of her cuddling with my roommates 2 year old Golden Retriever. Please let me know if anyone else went through the same problem

Thank you all so much for your replies and advice! They have definitely calmed my nerves, here are 2 photos of her face.
She looks to have a short, straight coat so probably will be more on the retrieverish side with looks. But time will tell!
She sure does have the Retriever look...and really really cute.
She is SO cute! Definitely looks like a more retriever-ish coat.
Have a look through the photos on my profile page - Luna hasn't really looked at all like a poodle her entire life except for the occasional curly patch of fur.
At 11 weeks:
At 2 years: (She came out gorgeous, just not very poodly!)
It's nothing to worry about - in fact, I'm sort of glad because she requires so little grooming. I can bathe her and towel dry her without combing or brushing and the only thing I do is use a shedding comb during her seasonal coat changes. (Plus a little trim of her fluffy retriever bum and doodle tail occasionally)
We chose a doodle partly because we knew they might not shed, since my husband has mild dog allergies. He takes an allergy pill every morning to keep down the sniffles and loves Luna to bits :)
Your puppy is definitely a CUTIE PIE! I think I can see a little of the prominent 'eyebrows' that doodles tend to have, especially in the 2nd picture. You might just have to buckle in for the ride! She could get longer hair, or she could keep the shorter retriever hair.. It's quite a ride... Whatever she ends up looking like, I'm sure she is a total joy to your life!
Annie's hair remained pretty short until about 13 - 14 weeks old, then it started growing out of nowhere.
