Goldendoodles book on Amazon - anyone read?

Just curious if any of you have purchased this book.  I received this on my page from Amazon and noticed the reviews on Amazon were quite good.  It might be a great book for any new doodle owner.  .

Yes! While it was not overly helpful with information, the pictures are amazing to being to a groomer to show them exactly what you are looking for when you get your dog groomed....if I remember right, it is an inexpensive book.

Yes, I think it is $8.  I have bought similar books in the past and been disappointed, so I thought I would check with other first.  Thanks for your opinioin.

Eh! It has some great pics.....but a 10 yr old could have written it. I suppose if you are brand new to dogs in general, it may be of some help. It was given to me as a gift, as I would have not spent the $ on it.

Thanks for your response Ro.   I have a friend in another city who is thinking about getting a goldendoodle and I was thinking about getting it for her.  I think so often new doodle owners do not understand the grooming that so many of the doggies need and thought maybe this book had some insight on that process.

I have to go look at it again, but as I remember they barely skimmed the grooming issue. There has got to better info out there on grooming than this. It may be worth the $8, but it really is just a picture book with very little helpful info..

I do t think it had good grooming instructions but rather great pictures of goldendoodles in there and what they are supposed to or in general look like.....I used it because my groomer believed if I brought jack to her she had to cut him short???when I showed her the pictures....she could see that they can have longer coats.... That was the only thing it was helpful for

I got it from our local library...found it helpful...but have learned far more from being a member on DK...nothing can compare to the advice & experience of our many caring, dedicated & devoted members:)

OK...just pulled my book out.  I will admit, it is a "tad" more than a picture book.  BUT....you could very well interject Beagle, Great Dane, Jack Russell, etc...wherever they used "GoldenDoodle" and it would still work.  Great pics, but extremely generic.

 As I mentioned before, if you have never, ever had a dog before, it may be of some use....but other than that...not very helpful.  The Grooming section is basically telling you to buy a brush and go to the Groomer and tell them that your dog is not a Poodle, so they don't cut him that way.  That's it!  Just my two cents, for whatever it is worth!  ;)

Enzo gives 2 1/2 Paws up on the pictures, but a definite Paws  down on the usable information! :p
