Labradoodle & Goldendoodle Forum

I just heard about this site. It is connected with an environmental group, the National Resources Defense Council.

http://www.greenpaws.org/

I don't really know if all of it is accurate but it may be a good starting point to evaluate dog products like flea and tick treatments. Some of the sites it connects to have anecdotal posts, which are hard to evaluate for truth. It's also important to remember there is a risk/benefit ratio to consider in treatments.

Wow.  Just saw this on The Doctors and looked up Advantix Plus.  Going to have to have a talk with the Vet.
That's where I heard about it : )
what is "the doctor"
The Doctors is an mid morning TV show, with a panel of several doctors, on mainly human stuff. Some frivolous, some serious from plastic surgery to Gyn. I don't watch it often but sometimes catch a few minutes if I turn on the TV then. Usually TV is only an evening thing for me.

Wow. Interesting.  Thank you.

BTW, I came in here thinking that Green Paws was going to be a topic on grass stain paws.  Something I can relate to with Spud's paws.   Surprise.

thank you thank you thank you.

I happen to be one of those people - that eat organic and try to be really careful about - chemicals.

This website - is just what I needed.

I haven't had the time to go thru the whole website - but it seems to be just about flea and tick - do you know - if there is another website - that examines - other products for pets besides the flea/tick products?

I truly believe there is a website, some valuable, some not, for everything and anything. Reader beware though.  Google and I are constant companions.
Thank you so much for posting this. I looked up K9 Advantix and now i want to scream loudly. It looks like Frontline Plus is a safer choice...
I posted about flea products were not very safe a while ago but I don't think anyone believed me. haha:)
Of course we believed you Taylor, but as we pointed out then it's a risk/benefit thing.
Oh. I just think that between cancer and other diseases from fleas and ticks I'd rather take my chances with an all natural (no chemical) flea and tick repellent.
F. what do you use on your dogs???
