Okay, so here's my question... do any of your doodles have smelly rear ends... I mean like you can smell them when you are standing a distance away from them? As Remington has gotten older we have been struggling with this. We have started wiping his butt after he poops (I know I can't believe we do this either) because he seems to get bits of poop stuck to his fur around that area... we thought that was the problem... but I don't think it is. After months of doing this we still struggle with his smelly rear end. He is constantly biting at his rear end and sniffing it so he obviously knows it doesn't smell good either! Is there anything that can help with this problem????? Does he need and anal gland expression? Do any of you have this problem??? Please say you do so I'm not the only crazy one :)

I would say they need expressed. That's what Remington did... lick lick lick his behind :)
Problem is taken care of! No more smell! Horray! Vet said his anal glands were full but looked healthy :)
Great!
Harlow doesn't seem to have this problem but the beagle boys do! and boy do they smell bad when they do. We take them to the vet to have 'the deed' done.
