It's easy to forget when you are busy or distracted. I forgot Calla's first birthday, in part because it sadly occurred on the day you lost Thule. I think of DK like I think of computers and the internet. How did I live without it? We did fine because we knew no better. Of course, by my age you can say that of so many things. That doesn't mean that having these things hasn't made life much better! Thank you Adina. And soon there will be 6,000 members. No confetti please.
I knew something was wrong with the site and it annoyed the ..... We did have some good laughs over it though. A friend, who's even older than me, was in California and we spent yesterday comparing notes, complaining, bragging and generally having a great visit. We agreed that one of the very few things good about getting older is not putting up with things. So I "put my oar in". A young'un like you, Nancy, who is an expert graphics person by now, should surely be able to find some none site altering solution. Another thing good about getting older is delegating : ) Ned and Clancy emailed me to say they hate fireworks and confetti too. Did you give them my email address? You will be glad to know their writing skills are top notch.
Happy Birthday, DK! Don't let your Mom be embarrassed about forgetting your birthday...it's not like she has nothing else to do! That beautiful baby girl keeps her busy! (I actually for the first time ever forgot DH's birthday on the 14th...now "I" felt embarrassed!)
We are so grateful to have DoodleKisses, it just seems as if it has always been here! :)
Happy 2nd Birthday, DK! Thank you for all the fun, friends, support and laughter you've brought us in the past, and long may you continue to be our virtual home!
HAPPY BIRTHDAY! Heres one to make YOU feel better - still hurts for ME though...It was October 22, 2008... my son's 11th birthday... can you see where this is going???? It was a school day - who had to be in early for "extra-help", who needed a change of clothes because they were going straight to a band competition later in the day... and WHO wouldn't get up very easily for school. My mind was racing with so many things... kept trying to get my son out of bed - wouldn't budge... dog barking to go out... I totally FORGOT to wish my son a happy birthday! He just sat there at the top of the stairs as I yelled to him - "Come on, you're going to be late!"... Then it hit me....WHAT A TERRIBLE MOM! I cried, he cried, we hugged.... ah - who needs to go to "extra help" on your birthday, anyway... we had a great breakfast - together, he forgave me of course, but I never forgave myself!
HAPPY BIRTHDAY, DOODLE KISSES!!!!
My Doods are soooo happy that there's a Doodle Kisses. Even though they're not too thrilled that I'm on the computer instead of playing with them, they know that this is where I learn so much about how to make them happy and healthy. This is where I find out about the best treats and "indestructible" toys (sure they are). This is where I learn about all the cool things their fellow Doodles are doing...and believe me I tell them all about it (lots of "cocked" heads for those stories). This is where I learned about home cooking...and that completely rocked Guinness's world. And best of all, this is where I can go to get advice when I'm feeling like I just "don't have a clue" and to share all the things that I'm proud of them for. Nobody else could possibly understand except other DKrs!
