Just ordered my flea/tick products from Petshed. The prices were hard to beat and shipping minimal. If other doodle owners have ordered from this source before, please make me feel better. My husband just mentioned that I probably shouldn't have ordered it from so far away (Australia) and now I'm having second thoughts. The customer service people were very pleasant and told me that the product should still be backed by the company........just wondering what others have experienced with Petshed.
Thanks.
(I did go with the Frontline Plus.....we never have had a problem with fleas like some other doodle owners....thought I'd give it one more shot and than ask my vet about Advantix in the spring. Unfortunately for me, if I do have a problem with it now...I'll blame the source and not the product!!!! Oh well...keeping my fingers crossed)
I have ordered Frontline from Petshed and I am having issues with it actually working, I have ordered from them in the past and didn't have any problems. I have also got Frontline from the vet and have the same issue of it not working. I just ordered Advantix from Petshed. If I have a promlem with that then I may say Petshed is not worth but I can't say anything bad about them this far.
Okay, I chickened out and canceled my Petshed order. I was reading the Merial/Frontline website and from what I gather, they only guarantee the product when purchased within the US. I just didn't want to take the chance that it won't work, although I know many other doodle owners are having issues with the Frontline and have purchased it it other places.
I think Amazon.com had the next best price with free shipping. My vet also gives a free application when I purchase 6, so.......we'll see. I'm going to look into the Advantix, as well. Petshed does have great prices and I might shop the site for other things.
Thanks so much for the reply!
I sometimes use jeffer's pet or petedge (forget which one is cheaper) -- but I don't buy until I have other things I can justify buying for all the shipping costs.
Hi Mary. We've had our Wrigley since the end of July, and so far the only flea/tick med we've used is Frontline Plus from PetShed. She had one flea (that we could find) before we started her Frontline treatments and we've never seen one since then. So I wouldn't worry about it! My only complaint is that it takes a while to arrive; just plan in advance so you're not left waiting when it's time to reapply.
That's one of my problems, that I waited until I really need something. I think that I'll pick something up local and rethink my Petshed order. The prices are fabulous and customer service was very nice.
Mary, I always bought Lucy's meds from our vet, at very high prices I might add. I searched the net and found PetShed. They are the cheapest and I now order Advantix from them. Have been for about a year now and never have had a problem. Lucy has not had a flea or tick on her since last Christmas when we went out and cut our tree down, brought it into the house and my DH found a tick on him and I found 3 on Lucy. At that time I was only using Advantage. I switched and have not seen any since. I really do not have a problem at all ordering from them
I agree with the vet prices. It's horribly unfair. You want to support them, but at what cost? Mine was going to charge me for a presciption when I tried to order some cat meds through the mail, just to save a bit. I love him otherwise, but I guess they have to do what they have to do.
We are currently on Frontline, but are considering the switch to Advantix.
