I just saw this, and wanted to share it.  What luck that he swam up to the kayaker and wasn't afraid to get in the kayak.  And I'm so glad the guy continued to help him and try to track down his owner.  This poor dog has been through so much now.

This is a tragic story and I'm glad the dog was rescued. But who took the video? I'm confused.

F - It appeared that he had a camera attached at the front of his kayak.

That's what I think, too.  He had a camera mounted to the front of his kayak.

Why would someone do that, on the off chance a dog would appear?

So they'll have a record of it when they "catch the big one" :)

With PhotoShop nobody will believe them anyhow : )

So true.

The video was taken by a camera called the GoPro. They are amazing sport video cameras that can be mounted anywhere..on Bikes, kayaks, yourself. They are extremely waterproof. They use them a lot to make videos of Dock Dogs..that compete in jumps into the water, etc..

My son is a huge Mt biker and outdoorsman and he has 2 of them and makes lots of videos.
