Today started out just fine.  We got up about 6:30 and planned our day.  The ordinary brush teeth, eat breakfast, feed the pups and go for a walk.  I had a doctors appt. that I could not miss, so we went for our doggie walk early.  When we got home we put the pups in the house and desided to clean some stuff out of the garage because we still had time before we had to leave to town.  My husband doesn't carry a wallet, just his money wrapped around his credit cards with a rubber band (weird, but he doesn't like sitting on a wallet).  Well, he tossed his "wallet" on the counter before we went to the garage to clean some stuff.  When we were done (about 30 mins.) we came in and he went into the living room.  At that point he started screaming at Roxy.  I thought he'd left his slippers (which he always does and she loves to chew) where she could get them, but no it was his make shift wallet and we couldn't see any money or rubber band and the credit cards were strewn about.  My Spencer was overseeging and so we didn't know who had inhaled what!!!  He had about $100 in small bills wrapped around his cards secured by a large rubber band.  Well  I immediately called the Vet and she said bring them in right now.  The bills could wad up and cause a blokage. So there we go.  Roxy was the first suspect so they took her first.  We couldn't stay because I had a very important Dr.s appt.  They called about an hour latter and the indused vomitting worked and produced $64.00 worth of serial # matched bill that we can now go to the bank to get new money for and Roxy will be fine.  Spencer probably didn't get to inhale any of the cache so we didn't treat him.  So, if you have stealers like I have in Roxy, don't leave anything around near the edge of a counter.  Roxy is over 2 yrs old and she still obviously loves to take a treasures off counters!

I'm LOL NOW that I read all was well... I never knew you could do that with the serial numbers!  I should have, since Tori LOVES (eating) money too.  BUT...how much did the vet visit cost?  I would have been more worried about the rubberband doing something in the digestive track.  I thought money broke down?  maybe not that much.  What a nice vet to save you the serial numbers. You shold have told him to keep it as part of his bill!  LOL  Dogs and money....It must be the smell, cause my younger 13 year old son always says how he loves the smell of money and "wishes he could eat it" .... I have heard of many dogs who ate money,including Tori who is over 3!

Ouch, glad all is well!

I'm currently looking for a new wallet because the cat fished it out of my bag, which was on the counter in the kitchen where Junior Landshark couldn't get it, and brought it over the baby gate into the living room for Lachlan. Fortunately I caught him munching before he got down to the cash and cards, but the wallet is a total loss. Leather, yum!

Just a little follow up on my money eating pups.  My husband didn't notice his drivers license wasn't with the stuff that got away.  This morning Spencer decided his stomach didn't like it so much in there and vomitted it up.  My husband heard him and went to him saying "what have you eaten!"  Then he said "looks like a drivers license".  There was a little bit left that we could distinquish and it had half his face on it!  Well, off to the DMV on Monday!

Oh my gosh!  Don't you just love that 'warning noise' you get before they actually throw up?!  Are your licences plastic?  Ours used to be paper, but have since gone to a more plasticy type of paper... Oh boy!  Hope you don't get any 'other' surprises!

Sorry for your bad day, but after reading all these posts, I am laughing...especially about the drivers license.  We had a dalmatian that loved to eat money and paychecks!  Hope you had a better day today.

OMG- seriously Patty, that little "cupcake" of ours is such a crazy girl!  Why is everything so delicious to them???  I'm just glad Roxy didn't get irreversibly hurt and Spencer hung back and didn't need treatment!  Would have been fun to see the bank teller's face though when you brought the "violated" currency for exchange...any pictures of that?
