HEADLINE............... LUCILLEBALL DOWNS DADDY
Yes, that is right, my grandson was walking up through our yard to visit and Lucy got sooooooo excited as she does when the kids come around. She started running as fast as she could around and around the yard and looking for "a present" to put in her mouth to give to him that she ran right into the side of my DH and knocked him to the ground. That wasn't bad enough, she cont. to run and ran into him again as he laid there. He is not a happy camper!!!!!!!!!!! For 2 days now his neck and back have been bothering him. BAD BAD LUCY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
My DD had a similar exp. with her lab doing the same thing to her and she ended up with damage to her knee.
What to do, what to do. Daddy is still mad at his Lucy.

How horrible and funny at the same time.I hope daddy is feeling better real soon.....if he forgives Lucy he may heal sooner.

Oh no! You are really lucky that Lucy didn't hurt anyone worse than she did. We recently had a visit to the emergency room because Puddles and our daughter collided in the yard while chasing bubbles. It made the most horrible sound and my daughter had two gashes on her head from the incident. The downside of having a big dog is that they can be unintentionally dangerous. I have two small children and we now do not let Puddles get over excited around anyone. We keep him leashed when he is meeting new friends because he will get himself all hyper and like in your instance could knock someone for a loop or really, really hurt someone! I'm sure Lucy did not mean it, just like Puddles didn't mean to hurt his best friend, my little girl. Don't be too mad at her!

I'm not mad at her, she is such a love and just loves to be with people. She loves her grandfriends too. Unfortunately that is why alot of people rehome their big dogs is due to incidents like this. When there are small kids around I do watch her very closely. She is always on a leash at those times. I am glad your DD is OK as well.

Wishing your DH a speedy recovery, maybe you need to post signs outside...look out for speeding dogs..stop look both ways and preceed with caution, and purchase a hat that has two mirrors one on each side....so he can see from all directions...lol. Best of luck...

You are tooooooo funny. You make me laugh. Thanks, I am not feeling well today myself. This pic is a pick me up. I know Lucy didn't mean to hurt her daddy. She just gets so excited. AND she always has to take a present and give to whom ever comes. I do keep her tethered to me whenever we have alot of company, but in something like this she is just outside running around doing her thing. It was very unexpected.

When we are at the dog parks we all sit or stand by the fences ...you never know when you will get crashed into by a speeding dog. They can so easily break a leg, or hip or dislocate joints, I would feel horrible if one of mine did that to someone so I always try and watch with them, but it's always worse when you least expect it. Thats why I kinda think the hats with mirrors work great..although it does sound funny.

Lucy didn't do anything wrong, she was just bing Lucy! DD should have been watched where HE was going!! hehe
All kidding aside, I hpoe he feels better very soon!
I am feeling miserable myself - somehow I came in contact with poison sumac. I am not a happy camper!! Steroids not working fast enough!
Enough pity of my party - as my friend Dana says 'time to pull your panties up and quit sniffling'!
