Cooper & Winston have been on Heartguard for heart worm prevention and frontline plus for flea protection. We had a small flea outbreak late last summer.

It's time to refill the Heartworm Preventive, but have considered switching to other brands.

Is Heartguard the best for heartworm prevention?

Does anyone recommend switching to Trifexis to treat both? Pros and Cons?

What about Comfortis for fleas? Pros and Cons?

Just want the best for my babies and wondered what other doodle owners use : )

Enzo has been on Trifexis from the start. We've had no problems with fleas and she has never had any type of reaction.

I don't think it matters much....I use Frontline and Heartgard with no problem.  It's what my vet recommends.

We use Hearguard Plus and Vectra 3D. Both have been effective and my doodles have had not adverse reactions.

Charlie was on comfortis for quite some time with no problem. We switched to vectra 3D only because he got a tick and comfortis does not take care if ticks.

Jennifer, so Frontline did not work for you for fleas? We just bought a 3 month supply for Daisy and my neighbor (runs a doggy daycare at her house) highly recommended AGAINST using it, saying that many of her dogs had flea problems last year with Frontline. I am wondering if I should return it for something else.
