Hello can anybody hear me?

(***UPDATE: this wasn't intended as a scolding for NOT participating :-D Merely trying to find out what works best in getting info/updates to those who WANT it***).

I feel like I’ve been trying 101 ways to communicate our latest contest and slideshow photo themes to everyone but the feedback has been so minimal that I’m wondering if even 10% of our members have seen my messages. Up until the past 2 to 3 weeks we’ve had excellent participation in our contests and slideshow submissions. But lately it seems participation has plummeted AND in part because members are not receiving the messages I send out by e-mail. I have also received emails asking about the very things I’ve already announced which makes me think the messages I send out are not making it to you.

Here are the methods I’ve used to give announcements:
1) discussions in the forum that I list as featured discussions which are always visible at the very top of the forum page.
2) emails sent to all members weekly that announce contests and slideshow themes and any other fun or important things going on at doodle kisses. These emails always have the subject line “On Doodle Kisses…” If you are not receiving these emails, but you want to, you must let me know. They may be going to your spam folder. If they are ending up in your spam folder, you can prevent that happening in the future by adding the following email to your address book:

do-not-reply@doodlekisses.com

Also, if you want to get the emails, be sure you have your email settings here on doodlekisses set so that you do receive these. Any time you change your settings, be sure to click save at the very bottom of the page.

3) For the contest we have going now, there is a link for more information between the “latest activity” and the forum discussion list on the main page.

4) this week I also put back on a scrolling announcement at the very top of the front page – is there anybody who has not or cannot see it?

So I’d like to know, which of these ways to get information to you (you who want it) works best for you? Do you have any other suggestions for how you’d like news and updates and contest announcements displayed?

I got the email, and I look at both the forum and the slide show link.
I am open to any, but I do use the links often to see what is going on.
O sweetie, you don't have to respond to the mass emails--in fact you can't because it is a do not reply address. There simply has been some reason to believe that members are NOT getting the emails and thus don't know about the fun things going on. It's OK if some choose to ignore the emails, I just want to be sure that anyone who wants to be updated is updated :-)

As far as the pictures on the front page, I cannot alter them and add any information--I can only pull from the pool of available photos--but all you have to do is click on the photo to see who's photo it is :-)
Also there is a button, on the bottom of the slide show immediately to the left of where it says "share" -- click on that button and it will give you a full screen version of the slide show. When you're watching that full screen version, if you click on the photo you see at any time it will switch displays to show who the picture belongs to, the title, etc.

One thing I recommend to everybody is to click everywhere, push buttons and EXPLORE the site to see all that there is available. You can NOT break anything on the site by exploration--just don't click "delete" on anything you've added that you don't want gone for good :-)

I realised I just replied to your 'do-not-reply' email that I'm getting the weekly emails and its the best way for us to get info....
I agree with Kates idea to put the names on the slideshow - I thought it would have been great when you did the dog and owner show.

I get your emails and I also use the links a lot to keep up.
I will be downloading a great picture of my boy for Thursdays Theme show "household chores" first thing Wednesday morning.. the camera it's on is not mine so it is a race to get it here at the last minute.

I get all your e-mails & messages & always immediately obey every single one of them- LOL!
But I do not have any pictures of Jackdoodle housekeeping for this week's slideshow...I was unable to catch him at his favorite chore- cleaning the cat box!
