Hello can anybody hear me?

(***UPDATE: this wasn't intended as a scolding for NOT participating :-D Merely trying to find out what works best in getting info/updates to those who WANT it***).

I feel like I’ve been trying 101 ways to communicate our latest contest and slideshow photo themes to everyone but the feedback has been so minimal that I’m wondering if even 10% of our members have seen my messages. Up until the past 2 to 3 weeks we’ve had excellent participation in our contests and slideshow submissions. But lately it seems participation has plummeted AND in part because members are not receiving the messages I send out by e-mail. I have also received emails asking about the very things I’ve already announced which makes me think the messages I send out are not making it to you.

Here are the methods I’ve used to give announcements:
1) discussions in the forum that I list as featured discussions which are always visible at the very top of the forum page.
2) emails sent to all members weekly that announce contests and slideshow themes and any other fun or important things going on at doodle kisses. These emails always have the subject line “On Doodle Kisses…” If you are not receiving these emails, but you want to, you must let me know. They may be going to your spam folder. If they are ending up in your spam folder, you can prevent that happening in the future by adding the following email to your address book:

Also, if you want to get the emails, be sure you have your email settings here on doodlekisses set so that you do receive these. Any time you change your settings, be sure to click save at the very bottom of the page.

3) For the contest we have going now, there is a link for more information between the “latest activity” and the forum discussion list on the main page.

4) this week I also put back on a scrolling announcement at the very top of the front page – is there anybody who has not or cannot see it?

So I’d like to know, which of these ways to get information to you (you who want it) works best for you? Do you have any other suggestions for how you’d like news and updates and contest announcements displayed?

Or...you can put zap collars on all of us and just hit the zap button to let us know there is something new, LOL I get all you emails just fine and have already tagged 3 "chores" photos of my Cinderella.

I LIKE it!
1) Require all members to use the TriTronics E-collars
2) 10am Sunday morning hit "send" on email.
3) 10:05 hit "zap" on collar
4) 2300 swiftly jump to their computers and begin tagging photos - BRILLIANT!

i am getting them as well....maybe it is just due to the holiday's i know i have been overwhelmed with family coming in and trying to get ready for christmas!!

If you get the emails...that makes me happy. If you are busy...NO worries at all :-) Actually no worries regardless of anyone's choice to do other things..LOL - I hope nobody thinks I expect full participation! It's only that I want members to KNOW what they CAN participate in should they want to :-)

Hi Adina,
Yes I get all the emails but I work full time and Max takes so much of my time in training, playing, etc I just don't have time to respond and/or participate a lot, I wish I did have more time. I'm also not very techie so tags & such just take me forever. I was lucky to download pics of Max!! I do try to read in the groups I belong and comment at times.

Again no worries. It's not full participation I am after (tho wow can you imagine!?) as much as knowing that members DO get notices and KNOW where to find updates should they have time and interest in participation :-)

In case anybody else has this problem... The emails I send out to the whole web site go to your real life email only: (Yahoo, Gmail, etc). They do not show up in your inbox here (but I am campaigning to change this). So again they are either going to your spam folder or if your spam-recognition program works overtime then they may get deleted for you see them. To prevent this add
[e-mail] to your address box so your e-mail program considers it valid. And go to your email settings here on DK and make sure you have the right boxes checked so you get the notices you wants to get and don't get the notices you don't want to get.

I get your emails. I reminded me to look at all my 'tags' and realized that 95% were untagged. Will never be that lazy again!
