Labradoodle & Goldendoodle Forum

Hello Everyone!

I am so glad I found this site. Charlie, 5.5 months old, recently came into our lives (just last week) after being abandoned. We weren't sure what he was, but he's all clean now and we suspect he is a Goldendoodle of some sort. He had two different kinds of bad worms, matted fluff, and was starving to death. I'm so glad he found us when he did, he wouldn't have lasted much longer.

I haven't navigated a forum in years, so please excuse me while I stumble around. I'll be posting more pictures soon, any insight you have into what kind of Doodle Charlie is would be most helpful. We were quite happy with our other rescue, Hampton, never thinking in a million years we could take in another pup. Hampton, a schnauzer-corgi-terrier, maybe 6 or 7 years old, found his way into our family via the Florida Little Dog Rescue. He has quite the story, he once lived with over 75 dogs in a trailer with no electricity and no running water, one of the worst hoarding cases in the area. Despite the cruelty he endured, he is an intuitive and loving big-brother and is teaching Charlie the ropes.

Charlie is all puppy. I have very limited experience with training a puppy, so reading through the threads is really helping me. I've learned so many things about raising a good Doodle. Thank you all in advance for all of the great advice and postings you've created. I don't feel so overwhelmed and I feel better equipped to help Charlie become the best Doodle in the land!

Thanks again for your hospitality, if you need me, I'll be searching through the topics, soaking up all the knowledge I can get!

Thanks, Nancy, Ned and Clancy!  We think Charlie's pretty cute, too.  I'm going to join all of the groups you suggested, they are a wealth of information!  I still can't believe someone dumped him.  He loves everyone and the little bit of socialization we've done with him has gone better than what we've been able to do with our other rescue. Charlie still has one more round of shots and then a month after that we can start heart worm, flea and tick prevention - we're trying to be careful about who he meets until he is protected.  In the meantime, he is curious, but kind, and is following directions like a champ.  Good boy Charlie!

Welcome to DK....Thank you for opening your home to Charlie and Hampton!

Thanks, Ro and Enzo!  Charlie and Hampton make this house a home, for sure.  I can't imagine our lives without them!

Welcome to DK --and thank you for making Charlie and Hampton a part of your family!  I don't know what he is but from  what you describe and that one picture my guess would be an ALD.  He's definitely a doodle and darn cute!  So glad you're here.

WELCOME to DK! This site is amazing and Charlie is so adorable! Congrats on your rescue. Bless you for opening your home!
