Hi Everyone,
Well as you might now, I have Mr Bentley who is the most beautiful dog ever (I'm biased I know) Something has happened with his coat that is really worrying me. He has started with really bad matting, and it's REALLY not because I don't groom, or take him for his monthly groom. Every night we sit down for our grooming session, and I don't let him get wet and dry without combing out, but something different is happening. My groomer in Tomball has said she will need to clip him down to his skin!!!! My husband just won't have it. He's a big furry teddy bear and everyone who meets him loves him. I don't want him clipped also, but what can we do? Is there a specialist doodle groomer? am I doing something wrong? He has never been clipped since we got him, he's now 11 months old. Please anyone who can help I would be so so happy.
Just finished with the new product recommended "Instant Mat and Tangle Remover", not doing it! I've just been cutting into a mat, which does work, but there are so many of them and since yesterday and we had so so much rain here, his coat got wet just while he was out pottying that there's even more today. Its a battle that I'm trying to win, but I think it's a haircut coming..... will keep you posted.
Thanks
Pauline
I wish I knew where you could get your hands on that Bark2Basics quickly. I hear it's great! That's how our puppy got so matted. It was the rain ontop of her blowing her puppy coat. :O(
Maybe you can talk the groomer into being really patient and brush out as much as she/he can before taking to the shears. Good luck (again!) ~ Shelly
Peri had her first haircut today and I am scared to death to see her. She is at doggy daycare and I tried to look on the camera...I don't think she is shaved - better not be! I told them a light clip (not too much matting yet, but hair in eyes, looking really scraggly) and even printed tons of photos from DK doods. We all get so worried about our doods looking really poodlish, don't we?
Hi Alyson
Please let me know how things go for you. Yes we do all worry about our babies don't we.
Bentley is going on Tuesday. But he has to go to the skin, because the mats are just too bad. Oh well, he's still Mr Bentley underneath all the fur. At least I know it's not down to something we did or didn't do right,
Pauline
Here you go...keep in mind they didn't have to shave her (not matting, YET). I am pleased. Don't worry about Mr. Bentley - this is normal! And he will look cute as ever :)
