I'm so upset for my poor doodle! He's close to 7 months old and he's all
Of the sudden started regurgitating some of his food. In the past week he's done it several
Times. The only change we have made is that we changed his food (the tractor supply one) from
One flavor to the other, which I wouldn't think would cause this. Either way, I sent my husband out to get the previous food tonight. I'm so stressed out because my husband and I leave for vacation (our first ever without kids in TEN YEARS) and now Ozzie is going through this. My parents are flying in to watch the kids and Ozzie but I honestly don't even know what to tell them about how to take care of him :( any advice would be greatly appreciated. Ozzie was doing so well! We brought him home at 4 months old and he weighed 31 lbs. he's already up to 42 at 6 1/2 months. Anyway, so glad I found your website! Looking forward to hearing back :)

Hi Katie. Sorry to hear about your predicament. Hopefully you can get your Ozzie to a vet before you leave. Please check out his link and try and contact the author Kate by sending her a friend request and a private message or through her Facebook page. Good luck.

Take a moment and calm down. Dogs do throw up food from time to time and it can be as simple as ' nothing'  to something else not so severe as MegaE

Did you just come to the assumption from a few vomits this week?  If so, I'd say, no way.   If you have seen this right along, your dog is not gaining weight, etc ... but really, I think it not something so serious, so soon, as MegaE

Stop reading the internet and just go get a second opinion at a vet. I am sure all those questions can be answered before you take a vacation.

I agree with this 100%.

I agree too.

What are you feeding him and why did you switch?  You might check out the food group.  It seems strange that he started regurgitating after you changed foods.

I feed him the tractor supply brand. The first bag was chicken which we didn't have a problem with. The 2nd bag was beef and that's when this started. We just switched back to the chicken last night so we will see.

I hope the switch back, does the trick and you doodle feels better.  Try not to worry too much and enjoy your vacation.

Please update as you can. We all want to know how Ozzie is doing. I hope you are concerned for no reason. Seriously, why does stuff like this happen when we are leaving??? I cannot tell you how many time I have a dog sitter all lined up (even if it is my husband!) and we end up with someone needing antibiotics which means they also need probiotics and antacids all at different times and I have to make a color-coded chart for the sitter to follow. This stresses me out like crazy. Hang in there! Hoping the vomiting was a fluke. We had a dog we nicknamed Pukey Dukey because of his occasional vomiting episodes.

Never heard of MegaE.  I think you need to relax and trust your parents to do the necessary things for the dog.  Give them the name and number of your vet as well as the name and number of your pediatrician and go off and have a great vacation.  Your kids and the dog will do fine, as will your parents.  Relax.
