Labradoodle & Goldendoodle Forum
I have researched long and hard and put policy next to policy for the last couple of weeks. Here are the top two choices and the differences.
Trupanion charges $29.47 per month with a $200 "per incident" deductible and pays 90 percent for accidents, illness and prescriptions with no pay out limit.
Embrace charges $30.28 per month with a $200 "annual" deductible and pays 80 percent for accidents, illness and prescriptions with a $10,000 annual pay out limit.
Does anyone have experience with either company? Embrace is rated the number one carrier by consumer reports.

I pay $300ish per year per dog. $200 deductible per incident per year, then they pay 100% for my vet. I believe they pay 75% for specialists. They do not pay for vaccines or routine dental care.
They will ask for health history from your vet and if your dog was treated for anything, it won't be covered since it would be a pre-existing condition.
Make sure if you have 2 doodles with Pet Plan that they are giving you the multiple dog discount ...... when they renewed mine they didn't give me the multiple dog discount. They also had not given me the "DOODLE" code discount. I'm having a little trouble getting them to adjust ...... I'm sure they will, just haven't gotten it done yet.
Sandy --- What I would check with Embrace and Trupanion is if they pay on "genetic diseases" such as hip displaysia. That is one of the main reasons I took out insurance. I wanted hip displaysia, accidents, and emergencies covered. I can handle paying for the little things, just wanted the big things covered. They did increase this year and my girls are 3 years old.
