Labradoodle & Goldendoodle Forum

Hello!

I have a 14 week labradoodle that will soon need to be groomed She's a f1b with a standard labradoodle mom and mini poodle dad. She has been shedding since we picked her up. I have yet to find another labradoodle that looks like our Hadley. Her hair is very rough in places and she's covered with fuzz. I live in a rural area with few groomers and I am unsure what directions to give my groomer. Any suggestions on how to groom her would be very helpful!

Hi Mindy,
You might get better responses & suggestions if you post this in the Grooming Group. :)

Karen's suggestion to go to the grooming group is best.  In looking at her photo, I would ask the groomer to do a  sanitary, paws and just barely trim the fluff. I would emphasize that you do NOT want her shaved anywhere, you do NOT want a poodle face or trim between the eyes, you do NOT want her leg hair shortened other than blending in.   I'd start looking at photos like crazy and save and send a couple to the groomer that seem realistic for what you think your pup's coat will do.  My son's doodle looks like his coat is similar - less coat on legs and ears. Here are a couple of photos of him, not that they are specific recommendations for a haircut (he's had some pretty awful ones). I don't know it it will help you envision what you want done.

Thank you for posting the pictures of your son's doodle! I have looked at hundreds, if not thousands of pictures for a doodle that looks like my Hadley and now I finally get to see some! Also, I appreciate all the helpful tips too!
