Help! Help! Help!

I have about 95 million names going thru my head for my new little guy (he was 2 weeks old on Sunday), and I want to get some other ideas before I decide.

What name jumps out at you when you see this guy?

Maggie is a very cute name! The name my breeder has given my guy is Chico. It's a cute name, but I'm not really feeling it...

Kate, LOL Let me think of all the gun brands I can, I will get my DH on it - I am sure he will have some DOOZIE'S for you!   I personally really like Draper - it really just fit's him, I think Will is neat to, reminds me of Will Smith and he is one of my favorite actors.   I was going to email you and ask you if she sent a new picture :-) Work has been way to busy these last 2 weeks for my liking.

Hi Denise! If I were going to go with a gun name...I think I would call him Ruger. :-) Where are you in the tug-of-war with your hubby on the to-get-another-Dood-or-not debate? I still see your name on a future litter on MSR's page. :-) Do you know Lori L.? She boards her dogs at MSR and she dropped them off on Wednesday and took a pic of her holding my little guy for me and sent it to me! How sweet was that? It totally made my day! I am a big Will Smith fan, too. But Will is the name of my other nephew. Draper is still high up on the list. I just can't wait to meet him and "see" what he looks like! 3 more weeks...

No decision yet. :-) I think I will wait and meet him to decide for sure.

Samson could be shortened to Sammy (nice when a dog's name ends in an "eee" sound).  I also like Grover - saw that response and think it's super cute.

 

Any ideas about where you are leaning?

I had a Sammy as a dog growing up. Love that name. I have about 10 names I'm leaning towards! Now I think I just need to meet him to see which he most looks like. :-)

Kate, you should also try saying the name with commands: "Fido, sit!" "Fido, stay!" I think some names can end up seeming a little awkward when mixed with the command word.

Becka, that is a good idea! A name can sound super cute, but when you use it in real situations it might not sound as cute!

[Laurie, Fudge, and Vern]

We had one member on DK that thought about naming her dog Tuck and then thought about yelling, "Tuck Off," and decided against it..LOL. I wanted to name Vern Noodle and my DH said no way was he standing outside yelling, "Here Fudge, Here Noodle."

"Here Fudge! Here Noodle!" That is too funny!

Ha Ha Laurie! And I hear the same problem can arise with the name Jack!!!!! Although we have several of them on DK. You just want to make sure they aren't jumpers!!
