My Oliver does not like getting his picture taken either... he just turns his head.  See if you can catch him off guard.

Barbara, believe me I have tried, he is too smart for that, but this weekend I am determined to get this done...thanks

Try using the timer on your camera (if it has one).  Set the camera down, push the button and then both your hands are free to use a squeeky toy or a treat to get him to pose.  Hopefully he'll notice there is no camera in your hand and you'll get a good shot.

Good luck!

Judi, like I said before, my camera does not have a timer, lol, so maybe I need a new camera....I guess even my camera is behind the times, lol, but we are ging to try again, but thanks for your help, much appreciated...

Practice some sit/stays for a few minutes....or down/stays.  Be sure you have the camera handy and when he gets into the "groove" of the sit/stays... grab the camera and take the picture.  This works really well for me to shoot them one at a time....it's tough to get them together though.

We will try that Jane, thanks...

Sue that just might be the answer, he is of course adorable sleeping, but he is even cuter awake, lol...Of course I am his Mom, so I can say that, lol...But it just might come to that....Thanks

Outside, in the natural light is the best way to take pictures without that nagging flash.  Clancy still runs toward me when there is a flash involved.  Also, having an assistant really helps.

You have gotten some good suggestions . . . I think having an assistant really helps. To take Bodi's Christmas pic my husband helped and we had cheese ready.  I gave him a few small pieces, then held more with the crinkly wrapper in my hand with the camera.  If he looked away I just made noise with the wrapper.  It took about 12 shots before I was happy with a picture.  Good luck!
