We live in the mountains and just had our first significant snow since we got Stella. She gets covered with snow clumps! (AKA snow dingleberries) How do you doodle owners in snow country deal with this winter "phenomenom"
Do you worry about them getting too warm in something like this? Would you use it on walks or off leash play or both? I like this site, even their regular prices aren't too bad compared to some I have seen.
Good point. I didn't think of that. Thakn you. I was more so thinking about it for the snow play time, not for the regular walk, just so she wont get matted up from being wet/dry/wet/dry... I have to check it out to see what type of material it is made of...
I used Quincy's snowsuit both for play and walks, it kept him clean on walks when is belly is usually full of sand and grit kicked up from his paws, he had no trouble running and chasing his ball in it. He didn't seem to be too warm and it saved having to bathe at least half of him everytime we went for a walk. BTW I just ordered one for Quincy, the newer version that covers more of the belly, as that is a big issue for us. No side walks and they use a lot of sand on the streets in winter. It is just unlined nylon and being too warm shouldn't be an issue. It was a total of $48 incl shipping, I think that is a small price to pay for a snowball free, clean doodle. I could make another one like I did before but I have to confess I have gotten a little lazy. Mine should arrive in about 5 days or so, I can give you a review then.
I will read more about it... I am trying to keep long haired doods for winter. I would think it would need to be "breathable" I look forward to hearing how you like it!
This looks great and I bet you could make it easily. My sewing skills are limited and the time it would take just wouldn't be worth it to me. I can just picture you making it fancier and all girly.
Yes, a little lace on the snow suit, hee hee!! I agree though, $50 I don't think you could make it for that. Do you know if the suit has a opening to potty?
I think from the bottom of the tail to the tummy area is open. ( Because I see the balck piping on it.) If I find the cheat remnant fabric, it will be worth making it, only if you feel like it......
