Hershey is healing...

Thanks everyone for your kind words and sympathy... Hershey is doing just fine, back to her old self. She looks worse than she is, I'm sure - what with all the bald patches and scabs! The wounds seem to be healing fine, and she didn't flinch at all when I've been cleaning them.

We're taking her away for a few days this weekend to see friends, so she gets to see her friends too, the pug, the mini-maltese, and the mini-poodle :o)

The owner paid for everything, and they are looking into fencing for their yard, as well as personal in-home training to work with their dog. I feel like they are taking it very seriously because they have small children in the home. They told us that they got her from a shelter, and her former home had small dogs in it that she didn't get along with (not sure who didn't get along with whom...) I guess they figured that since she's their only dog, they'd be fine. They didn't think about the other dogs in the neighborhood that she might be exposed to, and they apologized...

I am so glad that there seems to be a happy ending. The Dane's owners did a good thing to get the dog from a shelter and I guess they do need some time to get everything situated. Kudos to you for following up in a responsible way. I am so glad that Hershey is doing well.
