Hi, glad to have joined doodlekisses! It seems such a reassuring group and I am sure we will need support in our time, and happy to help as able, too! My concerns are allergies ( hoping my hub won't react to ours!) and training, especially with/for our son who has special needs. Here is our only puppy pic so far...attached

Cindy, this past year we started working with special needs children in a classroom setting.  It has been an interesting and rewarding journey for us.  Finn can't get enough of their hugs and kisses and his interactions with them are really something to watch.  He's not always the best "reading dog" but his heart is with these kids.  I think this will be a wonderful thing for your son :)

What a lovely, warm welcome.. Thank you all for your responses and encouragement and laughs! Would love to eventually hear more about the training and any particular prep for the special needs doggies -- sounds like such a heartening addition to life for all involved. I really want to get this right, as much as I can from my end of the relationship. This is going to be another great ride! Thanks again, all. :)
