Holistic Flea and Tick Prevention

 Sorry guys to keep harping on same story. I am just so worried about making the wrong choice.  But I need to ask has anyone tried the Garlic tabs, apple cider vinegar in water bowl or the Evolve flea and tick spray as Flea tick prevention or how about the homemade collars with essence oils?

I don't think any of those products you mentioned would work. I did buy Cedarcide but I couldn't stand the odor. So I still use Frontline and we've had no side effects.

I like the smell of the Cedarcide, reminds me of my grandmothers cedar closet. The dogs don't seem to mind it either, as they did with some other natural oils and products, they would go roll in the grass to get it off. With the cedarcide, they don't. I like that it repels mosquitoes, too. They carry the heartworms. I even use the cedarcide on me and the kids.

We also use frontline plus with no problems. Is there a website with reviews and experiences??

Here's a new one for you.  My son has always been allergic to flea bites.  He would swell up and get bruised from a flea bite.  The doctor told us the only solution was to get rid of the dog and cat, but we didn't want to do that.  We bombed the house, but they just returned and I don't even know how they got started since the dog and cat did not have fleas.  Of course, insecticide for the animals did not work.  We ended up getting an electronic flea collar which puts out a sound that is intolerable for fleas.  My son wore it on his belt in first and second grade.  Some people thought it was a monitor, but I was embarrassed to say that it was his flea collar.  He would wear it on his pants and then take it off at night and hang it on his bedstead.  Now he is thirty and again having problems with fleas so I got him another electronic flea collar and my husband used some bike helmet connectors to make a belt for him.  Ever heard of that one?  They are a little expensive and the batteries have to be replaced a couple of times a year, but they always worked well for us.
