The article I have a link to on cnn.com states that the chemicals in the Glade Plug-ins and a few other household cleaners can cause health problems in dogs. I've also heard that Frabreeze can cause health problems as well.
Has anyone else seen or heard of this?

Added note:
I have had pet birds for 20 years and I'm always very conscious of any airborne type cleaners, fragences, etc. as this potential hazards can kill them. Even overheating teflon coated pans can kill a bird and I've had a friend who lost her bird to this mistake. I remember hearing stories a few years ago when Febreeze came out on the market that it was causing health issues in dogs and cats whose owners would spray their animal beds and couches with the fabric freshener.
Here is a link to a news report on ABC about if these kinds of reports are true or not.

I, personally, still try to be more cautious regardless of what is being reported.

I agree strongly, Ginny. One, two, or ten breeders saying that a plug-in or any other household product caused birth defects doesn't even come close to proof that the plug-in had anything at all to do with it. If there are studies or research, why don't they cite them or provide a reference?
Maybe this is a breeder's attempt to blame the plug-in for genetic defects passed on by her breeding dog. Who knows? Maybe it was her perfume that caused it, that seems just as likely to me.
I don't use these types of products in my home anyway, but I would totally disregard this article; nothing fact-based here.
Personally, I don't understand why anyone needs these things, if they have a clean house.
When DH and I were house hunting years ago the realtor took us to view house that was occupied but the owners were away for our viewing. In the bathroom there was a burning candle with a curtain above. Geesh! The realtor put the candle out.
i love candles :(
i found these 2 articles ...the top 2 of my search. WOW...i never knew. But gosh..the things we learn on DK! :)

Scented candles may have lead or lead cores in the wick,

Joanna, I think that natural beeswax candles are safer if you can find them with out the leaded wick. I haven't read the articles yet so maybe it was already mentioned...
