How Can We Better Help New Members?

As we get ready to implement a new series of welcoming and informative emails to new members to help guide them once they join, I'd like your input on a few things:

-- What do new members need to know?

-- What do they need to know first...what's most important?

-- What do they need to know next...and after that?

Mainly I want to get your feedback on what is most critical for new members to learn and what is important for them to learn over a period of time as they settle into DK membership.  We want to ensure they feel welcome, now how to navigate, can find answers to common questions, etc.

When we're done, anyone who wants to get what new members get will be able to sign up for the emails.

Because it was coming to my inbox at work I deleted it so I didn't test it...I pretty sure the links were there though.

It's really weird for me to get these emails in my regular email account from me but not really - ha ha

Do you have a trash bin in your work inbox?  Because that is what I was mainly wanting to test...the email you get.

Oh geez. I wrote no doubt Lisa has gone home. I am new member FGP. I will report on any progress. But I have to say Adina if I was a new member I would quit before I joined with all the hassles.

So far I have posted a photo, discussion, blog with no issues. I have customized my page, no problems.

I see the big blue box on the main page and it makes sense - pretty obvious and would be helpful I think.

One other suggestion Adina - I would put the DK store on a separate tab on the home page.  Everytime I go to order a calendar I have to look through all the tabs and find it hidden under "help" which seems like an odd place to have a store :)

But also there is limited tab real estate.  I can't have more tabs than I do right now without it looking rather clunky or lopsided.
