My puppy is 10 weeks old and 13 lbs. how much should I be feeding him? I usually give him a cup for breakfast and a little bit more than a cup for dinner. He always seems still hungry though because he goes to his bowl and licks every last crumb and starts to dig at his bowl as if he is searching for more... If someone could give me some input I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks!(:

Shianne, the amount of food that you feed totally depends on what you are feeding your puppy!  The best guide is on the bag of food that you have - it will tell you the daily  amount recommended for the weight of your puppy and you divide that amount by the number of feedings.  Every food is different.  It is a guide and I would follow it pretty closely unless your vet tells you that your dog is underweight or overweight. If you have any questions on the food that you're feeding or if you find that your puppy is still very hungry, I would recommend you join the Food Group (If you haven't already) and ask any questions there!  Your puppy is adorably!!!!

At that age, we were feeding 3 times a day - early morning, around 1 pm, then about an hour before bedtime. We didn't switch to twice a day feelings until they were about 6 months old.

You've gotten good advice. Every food is different and the amount you feed varies from one to another depending on the calorie content of the food. You should also be feeding three times per day for most puppies under 5 or 6 months old. And please do join us in The Food Group.

At that age, I fed Asta 3 times a day.  Just about a week or so before he was 5 months (May 1), I noticed that he left food in the bowl at the last feeding of the day.  I switched to twice a day at that time.  Your puppy is so cute.

Thank you so much everyone. This really helped me :)
