How to Host a Doodle Romp ?

Have about 8 people with doods willing to get together for a play date(s) in the Eugene, Oregon area.  But first, shouldn't we agree to what our rules should be?  How big an area for the number of doods? Have already discussed having a romp here with our Farm Insurance agent, and he said it was OK to have friends over and as long as there is no charge (like as if it would be as a business). BTW, the food police are not liking "potlucks" so much anymore.
