I can't believe I'm typing this....Muzzle help

In order to take Enzo on ferry to a destination we will be going to, they require her to be muzzled!  Anyone suggest a soft, no evasive, muzzle.  I have never used one on any of my dogs, so I am clueless on even what size to fit her.  Looking for a fairly inexpensive one as well, since she will never use it again and I know no one who actually has one to borrow.  TIA

Have you asked your vet if they would loan you one.  I know our vet does that sometimes.  How sad for Enzo:(

I did! Unfortunately, they only have really heavy duty muzzles. I think I want something a bit lighter and one where she can pant and breathe a bit easier. I see they are not terribly expensive...much cheaper than I thought.

When Cocoa was a puppy she everything! On a trip, we bought a muzzle just in case we needed to take her somewhere that had debris on the ground. We bought this one:

We didn't end up using it, but it was the softest one I saw.

Can you use a gentle leader?  Would the people actually know it isn't a muzzle? I know when we had one for Gordie, people  often thought it was a muzzle. Is the muzzle just for the ferry ride or is it for the trip?

That's an idea Nancy. It is for the ferry ride over to Catalina.

There was someone at a romp a few months ago that lived on Catalina and came to visit and go to our romp.  I cannot remember her name, buy perhaps someone else in the So. Cal group will.  Maybe if you could contact them, they would have some insight and suggestions.

So true Sheri!  When we walk Libby with her Gentle Leader sometimes people are afraid to go up to her because they think it is a muzzle and she is not friendly.  Totally the opposite:)

Ro, You can borrow our gentle leader.  I have two sizes that I use in training.

Awwww, thanks for the offer Carolyn! But I actually have one I used for one of my Goldens. Haven't dug it out yet, but I'm pretty sure it would fit Enzo. Just don't know if I want to chance them not letting us on the boat, if I don't have the muzzle. We're going to be with another couple and don't want to ruin the trip for everyone because of Enz. I'm going to call the Catalina Express and see how " firm" the muzzle requirement is.
