I changed my mind on the puppy

It just didn't feel right.  

The breeder won't refund my deposit even though he's only had it for 5 days.  Money is the root of all evil I guess.

You did the right thing if it just did not feel right.  You want your decision to feel right, right from the start.  I did not think it was a very honorable breeding to start with.  You will find the perfect dog for you.  Keep your eyes and hearts open.
