Labradoodle & Goldendoodle Forum
Today on my walk with the dogs I was thinking about the past couple of weeks on DK and a few things that have been bothering me. I think I have come up with a fair solution and a way to make things better. One of the biggest complaints on DK is the number of times repeat questions are asked in the open forum, instead of using the search engine to see if we have discussed the topic before. It gets tiresome to see the same questions over and over and makes some of us grumpy. It is also not fair that the same people have to answer the same questions over and over again and then get to hear that they were not nice enough or welcoming. Well, on my walk today I figured out that we should have different members assigned to different areas of expertise and they field those questions. Now mind you, there may be room for improvement on some of what gets assigned to whom, but I figured we could work on this group together and get the list down pat. So far, this is what I have come up with.
Please find a way to do this nicely and if you need an assistant Hokumer, please feel free to pick anyone but me, because I am far too busy.
making birth look something like this:
Allyson, thank you for your help.
or you admit publicly you do not have a Les Poochs brush or they simply don’t like your question, the designated groomer from your area is dispatched immediately to confiscate your dog help.
please refer them to our new senior group called, “Newfangled Electronics are Killing me,” led by my mother.
I have given this my best shot, and I could go on and on, but I never like to overstay my welcome. In conclusion, let’s see a show of hands from everyone that would like an eject button for any member that gets on our nerves. For example, if someone posts a picture repeatedly after being asked to stop, a tribal council would meet to decide if they might vote that person off DK. The only thing that could save them is if they have an immunity necklace photo shopped on a picture by their daughter.
Any other suggestions are welcome unless of course, you disagree with me and then please say nothing.

me too, and the worst is when you have to drive right behind them.
me, too :) I once saw a guy at a PTA meeting with a shirt that said something about sex wax. Wouldn't you like that guy to be related to you at a PTA meeting??
Sex wax is actually a surfboard wax brand - not new - has been around since at least the 70s. You guys just aren't from the beaches of California in the hippie days.
Nancy, You darn hippies :) There were no waves to catch near the town we lived in in Maryland. I bet he was one of those hippies, too. LOL
LOL, you must live in the Portage Lakes area.
My sister taught one year in the Portage area and left teaching :) LOL
I definitely think the coat section was hilarious and was a very clever post. As for the rest, as a newcomer, I now feel apprehensive to share or seek advice on this site. If I was in the majority where it seems like you all are a close knit family I'm sure I'd be cracking up laughing right along with you and applauding everything you said but sadly this does not help newcomer ease into a new environment. It's already intimidating being an outsider trying to learn the ropes... I suppose the best thing to do is to quietly take a back seat until I've gotten everything figured out. I'd hate to make a rookie mistake and feel like the whole crowd is wishing there was an eject button on me :(
Oh please. Laugh with us. We are the ones answering these questions over and over just like someone else answered my questions over and over.
And if you saw my dog, there is NO WAY anyone could answer what type of coat Spud has.
His Twitter name is SpudDogBillionHair. I've got the most challenging coat of all and I looked at coat type questions FOREVER. I envy everyone else. Beautiful coats. I see the questions and I only want to write~~ 'we have no idea' Because we really can't know what the coat will look like until it ~~ is what it is.
So, I'll take that job too and post my nasty coat pictures with my reply. That ought to work!!
Haha... I actually think a coat question is one thing that hasn't crossed my mind yet but from some things I've read it sounds like I may be asking myself what Godlie's coat will look like at some point when it starts changing a bunch. For now I'm just super stoked that I have a very healthy pup who loves us and is super smart and tons of fun- she can be a billionhair doodle and I'd just go with the flow too :)
Before you know it Star you will be the one answering all the newbie questions. You will see! WELCOME TO DK!!
I do plan on sticking around so count me in!!! So far the only questions I could answer would relate to potty bell training and how to stop you pup from eating their own poop! If either of those pop up, send 'em my way!!! :) :) :) Goldie is only 11 weeks old so I'm still learning A LOT right now. I'll share the wealth once I master it for sure!
Star, we're glad you found DK! You couldn't have started with a better blog LOL! All of us were newbies at one time. I remember feeling like you did. It can all seem a bit intimidating but explore the groups and soon you'll get to know your way around. And no matter what, don't ever be afraid to join in or ask a question. If someone redirects you, they're just trying to get you the answer you need, not make you feel bad. Stay with us, you won't regret it!
WELCOME TO DK!
