I'm going to miss my doodle

Tomorrow we leave for a two week vacation overseas, without our Yogi :-(
We planned this trip last April before he was even born. I know we'll have a fantastic time,
but we are already missing him. It's like leaving a child.
He is staying at my SIL's home, who adores him, and he her.
This is harder than I thought would be, am I being silly or do you guys feel
this way?

Simply put, yes. I hate leaving the doodles when I have to travel.

Not silly at all. We left Enzo for 10 days and I thought I would go bonkers missing her.

I feel the same.  When I have to travel, I hate leaving Eloise.  But she is in heaven at the sitter's, so that makes me feel better.  :)

You are not being silly. I hate leaving Ragley. When we went on vacation and I had to drop her off at the sitter's, I was in tears! I felt a little ridiculous, but she is such a part of me that it was heartbreaking. I have to leave her again for the 4th of July weekend to go to a wedding (unpatriotic in my opinion) and I am still torn up about missing her first 4th! I know I might be over-attached, but I miss my little ragamuffin doodlebug!

I know how you feel. I am having to leave Bailey and Bruin for a week. Even though they are in good hands with Lori (daphne and Lucy ) here on DK, I'm gonna miss them terribly.

You are not alone. It is really hard to leave them behind! Thankfully, we have wonderful dog-obsessed friends who send us tons of picture updates and we have been known to have a FaceTime session or two. :) 
I hope you enjoy your trip! Yogi will be in good hands!

Have SIL send updates with a few pictures every day or so, it helps.  Our dog sitters do that on the occasions that we have to leave the girls behind.  Enjoy your trip and know that it gives you a reason to look forward to coming home.
