hi Holly,
try a website, www.gonaturesselect.com and see if Nature's Select might be in your price range. My experience is that it is in the price range of Nutro foods, except that it comes in 50# bags, AND they deliver! It's a delivery-only food, so you need to see if there's a Representative where you live.

by the way, some gas or loose stools can be normal if food is changed over quickly.
best wishes!!

I see that you have chosen your food but I will add my 2 cents just in case someone else is reading this with questions. We have used Nutro with our 10 year old lab mix and our Springer for their entire lives and they have done really well on it. No gas, few poops, good health, etc. We began reading the food group information and thought we should change so we tried Dick Van Patten and another one I can't even remember. They were both ok but when we go for extended camping trips, they weren't readily available. When I read about Costco's Kirkland being rated so high and the cost lower, we decided to try it. We have also "graduated" Ned to adult food. So far all three dogs like it. None of my dogs eat every meal every day on any food. Because we are still switching over, we do have some gas. The product that they had the least poop with was the Nutro but......
I have the exact same experience! My mini-poodle was on Nutro her entire first 15 years (16 th year on Rx food)and she was wonderfully healthy, teeth good, coat great, etc. I had Jack on it, and he had little tiny firm poops like from very small dog...all my friends with big dogs were amazed. Now that I have switched him, he still poops 2x a day and it is firm, but it's about 3 times larger! (Sorry if anyone is eating while reading, lol) I know that in humans, it's healthy to have big well-formed poop, so I'm not worrying. But I liked having less to pick up, LOL!
