When I gave Lily her first Bully stick she just looked at it not knowing what to do with it. I picked it up and put it by my mouth like I was going to eat it. Lily got the picture and now she loves them. I had to laugh today when I saw an add for "dried pizzle". Never giving it much thought I had always figured it was dried cow tail. Boy do I know better now. Yes, Lily will continue to enjoy them just without me showing her what to do with it!! Anyone else have this mistaken?
Once my son ( 17 ) and I had a conversation about which part it was made of. He thought it was tendon, but I told him that it had to be intentine, since there are nothing on cow's body that is that long!! Boy, we were shocked when the pet store lady told us what is was!!!
Hahahahaha! I work at a pet store, and I often have to answer the question of what bully sticks are made of since we don't recommend rawhides, we recommend either bully sticks or nylabones. One woman literally got so upset that she had picked one up that she left the store without buying a whole cart of stuff she had picked out!!
Rawhides don't digest well and can cause a blockage. Some hides from other countries can also contain formaldehyde. I only use bully sticks or raw bovine bones for Annie.
