Thought it might be funny to write what our dogs would wish for if they could have some dreams come true.
Porter's are:
1. All you can eat pizza, cheeseburger, and cupcake party with a "fresh" toilet to drink from (so much better than the filtered water in his dog bowl). 2. Daily playdates with several dogs who play keep-away with him and do not play with each other--are just slavishly devoted to chasing him. 3. To save the family from an honest-to-goodness intruder who runs away in fear at Porter's ominous growls. Reward: see #1 (wish 4. A 5-acre expansion of our yard including the installation of a pond.)
1. All beaches and state parks to be more dog friendly. Why do they want dogs to stay in the parking areas, on paved roads, and on leash? That's not where the good smells are!
2. Food! We want routisserie chicken, carnitas, and shared pasta dishes with every meal. Why do humans want dogs to eat that dry dog food? They wouldn't eat that!
3. All guests and delivery persons to arrive with treats in hand. We shouldn't have to check out every person who arrives at our door to see if they have treats for us.
Maple and Lucky unanimously agree on the following:
1) Mom could retire from her job right NOW and stay home with us.
2) The door to the treat cabinet would fall off of it's hinges.
3) Temporary deafness to Mom and Dad when we want to bark ourselves silly.
That Coco (the family kitty) would want to play with me as much as I want to play with her. (Oh, and that she'd stop swatting at me with those sharp kitty claws, too!)
Wish #2
That the squirrels would cooperate and let me actually catch them. (Chasing the red laser light is pretty fun, too! Although, much like squirrels, I never seem to catch that dot!)
Wish #3
That I got invited to go along every time someone walked out the front door. (I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE to "Go bye-bye"!!!)
1. To be able to live at the cottage ALL summer long
2. That I would not have to work anymore and could be home with him all day
3. To lose 10 lbs
Ooops! That's MY list!
Okay, for Gavin it's the same except for the 10lb thing. He will take one of those machines that serves up constant tennis balls that people use to practice their tennis swing.
Y'all have some fantastic wishes for your dogs :-)
Some of the common themes I am seeing are the desire for:
stay-at-home humans and going out with humans
treats and people food
cats that want to play
dogs to play with, but sibling dogs to be ignored by their humans
balls
water
prey
people beds and pillows
less grooming, more rubbing
Cheese for breakfast followed by a fish lunch followed by cheese for dinner with cheese and fish snacks in between
Belly rubs on demand
Lots of doggy friends and a big field and never having to come back on the lead
