I wanted to post this as a discussion but instead ended up with a blog post - so deleted that and am now entering it as a discussion post. Sorry if the blog was confusing. I certainly don't want to "blog" about a toolbar.
I did want to pass this along. Maybe I heard about iGive.com from
DoodleKisses or another doodle web site, I don't remember but wanted to
pass it on again since it seems to work well. I have given well over
$10 in a very short period of time (less than a month?) just from the
few purchases I have made on Amazon & Ebay. I have the Doodle
Rescue Collective as my cause and the iGive toolbar is keeping up with
everything for me.
I vote for the DRC every day on the Animal Rescue Site in hopes that they will win some big $$$$ but am also finding that my little $ could add up.
If everyone on DoodleKisses added the iGive
toolbar and gave to the Doodle Rescue Collective just think of how much
money they would receive! I was skeptical when I added the toolbar but
I thought I'd just give it a try and see what happened. I don't even
have to remember to use it when I shop because it alerts me when I am
on certain web sites that I can use the toolbar and have my purchases
count toward money to my cause. I am excited because I am seeing small
purchases add up to cash for Doodle Rescue. Seeing how much money I
have contributed simply by shopping and searching is giving me a very Doodley Day!
Karen, I really want people to know that this works. I'm not a big spender at all but I do order from Amazon and I buy things on ebay from time to time. I also noticed that some sites I visit (I believe Penny's was one of them) the tool bar "Shop to Help Your Cause" flashes red to remind me that I can shop on that site and part of my purchase amount will go to Doodle Rescue Collective. I almost deleted the tool bar a couple of times until I started getting email updates from iGive about the amount I was donating. I also try to remember to use the tool bar for searching. I believe a penny or so is contributed for every search. The search engine isn't very good but I use it and then "google" later. It's really small but it adds up and I think that everyone should be aware that they could do this and DRC would get a check every month. It may be just pennies, but they add up!!!! DOODLEPHILES go to www.igive.com and add the toolbar and designate Doodle Rescue Collective as your cause.
Thank You so much, Julia. We actually signed up for iGive last summer and about 2 months ago, we got our first check from them. It was about $80.00. That's from using the iGive search engine at one cent (sometimes they give more as a promotion) a search and various amounts of donations from sellers of Internet goods. For those who use Amazon, The Gap, and many other online sellers, every time you shop, they donate 3% to 6% of your sale. There is a huge number of sellers in the list. Check it out. They were running a deal that for every new person who signed up for the tool bar, the DRC gets $1.00. So it's a really easy way to help out. Thanks again, for letting everyone know and Thanks to everyone who joins.
