I have Inv Fence outisde and would like to buy a remote system for inside so my dog is restricted in areas. Has anyone used a system and if so does it work? I appreciate any opinions or recomendations of products. Thanks

I'm about to make some barriers of my own. don't think I want electronic barriers since the dogs would have to wear collars and i don't know that you could easily change ares covered etc.
There are types that put barriers inside, like the Inv Fence outside and you need a collar and wall unitl. There are others that a remote signals a correction so it is portable and as long as he wears the collar it works anywhere you go. The latter is what I am interested in. They say you can use it to stop them fomr jumping too.
I know of a couple families who restrict(ed) their dog from certain areas of the house through training alone. You might try that first. One was my husband's standard poodle when he a kid. This dog was not allowed on the second floor. The other is my neighbor's mini goldendoodle. He is not allowed in the basement.
Depending on what brand you have...most offer indoor portable units. We have two small disks that plug into the wall. They will hold a charge for about a month if unplugged. We have one in our Dining Room and When at the door of our daughters bedroom. Our boy knows exactly where he needs to stop.
Hello!! I have the Innotek Contain & Train (5100 series I think?). It has the outdoor underground fence, the remote control thing for training and also you can get the indoor barriers that look like smoke detectors. I have one of the indoor barriers in my hallway to our bedrooms and personally could not be happier with it. She never even goes into the hallway anymore and all it took was the beeping collar it never even had to shock her for her to get it. I realize that some people are better trainers than I am so they are against products like this. For myself and my family with 2 girls 7 and 10 with lots of Barbies and Polly Pockets in their bedrooms this worked wonders for us. I bought a second one which I place on my landing to my downstairs family room when we leave for any length of time, and really the only reason I do this is because she can drive my angel fish crazy jumping up against the aquarim when no one is around to stop her! LOL Its quite a site!

Our electric fence outside has had some issues with her running through but only when the neighbor walks their dog in their backyard. If someone comes down the road walking a dog she never tries to run through. We are doing some training work on that issue. I have had to contact Innotek about this several times because there was something wrong with the first collar we had and their customer service is EXCELLENT. It has been one of those products and companies that I never expected to like or appreciate so much but I do and would recommend them to anyone.

Oh and my father-in-law has the same system and he uses the barriers in 2 areas of his house and loves them as much as we do :-)
And the remote is the thing that you can use to keep them from jumping, barking, whatever you want by just the beeping tone alone or a small current if necessary. Personally, we have never had to use anything more than the beeping tone.
