My DH bought me an iPad yesterday...I am pretty excited as I have never had one but I haven't even taken it out of the box yet. Although I am starting to wonder if he is trying to send me over the edge as I am the most un-tech savvy person in the world and his gift of an iMac and PS CS5 is just about to send me to the looney bin...LOL. Just wondering what some of the favorite apps are, what you love about your iPad if you have one, and any cool accessories I should get. He did buy me the smart case for it but I don't like it and am going to return it and get a more stylish leather one. He also got me a camera connection kit with a card reader which I think is very cool.
After my playdate at the pool with my favorite 3 year old today I am going to open the box and get started! Hmmm...come to think of it...my favorite 3 year old is a computer genius..maybe I will ask her what she loves about her iPad..LOL. Thanks for any cool advice on apps and "stuff".

First, send me the CS5 and I can figure the program out for you. I'll send it back when I'm done.
Second, take your temperature. I'm really worried about you, Ronna. If these were in my home, the boxes would have been ripped ( not gently ) opened and in the trash already, the power cords plugged in and it would have a full charge. WTD?
I'd say try some fun games. Games make using a new device fun and you learn without even knowing you are. I don't have an iPad but I do have an iPhone.
Here is what is on the menu
Besides all the regular programs that come with the device-YouTube, Stocks, iTunes, daily weather updates, etc
I'm looking forward to hearing what other members say. I have not really looked at some of the new things out there lately. Sick-but the phone is glued to my hand
I'm looking at it on my phone but can't figure out the web address. I belong to a online site, and one day saw an offer to download an app so I could take the reading with me. I still have the phone in my hand looking....
Here Sue, see if you can find it on here. My opinion, the site is messy but full of treasures. Like a garage full of stuff, but if you look around long enough it is full of lots of information.

See if you can find the app link. Glad you liked it. Nancie and Gracie Doodle turned me on to the site. It is my favorite. Of course, way more information than I can absorb, but what I can absorb, I enjoy
I also have Cut Rope-another game. I have too many games on here I really don't use. AppZilla--a collect of apps within an app. It is free, mostly useless, but very entertaining.
Do not bother with the Dog Whistle. Ha, that one is a joke.
I have a Xoom which I bought mostly for traveling. I got an Android device because of my son but now he's programming apps for the iPad too. I have been using my tablet more lately for reading and Words with Friends. You have access to thousands of book when you travel with a tablet. But I really don't know much about all the hundreds of thousands, literally, apps that are out there. SpellTower is a fun game though. I'm awaiting the Android version.
Spell Tower? Hmmm. On my way to check out that one.
Matt's friend created it and it has done really well.
I will be following this discussion with interest, as there is an iPad in my future. :)
Wow. Congratulations Karen. I'm thinking you'll love the mobility of using it. You can sit outside in the yard, etc.
