The presence or absence of the facial furnishings would be more telling than the texture or the coat. The coat can change radically, but facial furnishings are either there or not, they can't disappear or reappear. They do become more obvious as the dog gets older, and it can be hard to tell on a photo of a 4 week old puppy, but sometimes you can. Do you have a photo of her at 4 weeks (or any younger age) that you can post?
The parents that you met, one was a doodle and one was a purebred poodle? is that correct?
F1 is a puppy who has a GR parent and a Poodle parent and it is called an F1 Golden Doodle or First Generation. When they are F1b that means they have taken an F1 or multi-generational, second generation, etc. (Doodle bred with Doodle and so on) and bred it back to either a Poodle or Golden Retriever. If your puppy has a Golden Retriever parent then the chances lean towards it looking more like a Retriever and more shedding. So it depends on what your puppy's parents are.
She is adorable!!! My Sasha's body hair was like your dog and she ended up really, really curly. My girl is more poodle than anything. And I totally agree with you - I could care less how they turn out, I love me doodles for their personality and would love them no matter what :) Good luck with your puppy !
She is darling, but I think she will look more retrieverish and be without facial furnishings. Just think! No beard to trail water all over the place - not necessarily a bad thing.
I think your pup will end up looking a lot like our Luna. Luna looks pretty much exactly like a retriever with a little bit of "shag" around her neck/shoulders. She's also a mini F1 doodle so she's half the size of a Golden.
Here's Luna at 11 weeks:
At 2.5 years:
Gorgeous girl, J!
She is very stunning. I love her face. Congratulations on your baby. I hope you have many, many, many years of happiness and health together. These little stinkers have a way of getting in your heart and never getting out. They are loyal, loving, forgiving, true people pleasers in the purest form and will stay loyal to you and your family for her whole life… You can not beat that ever.
OMD, Georgia is just precious! From my limited experience,I think one might be able to have some idea about curly coat vs. flat or wavy at 4 weeks with F1's and F1b's but the facial hair would be harder. From this picture, Georgia looks more like a retriever but she might have a curlier coat -you can see it on her shoulders and thighs. My guy was fluffy/wavy, went to fluffy/straight and when his adult coat came in, he turned out a bit curlier than I expected. He's a multigen and we still called him a "doodle surprise." It will be fun to see how Georgia grows. You have a very beautiful girl with a very loving expressive face no matter what.
