Looking at the possibility of rescuing this dog. Identified as a poodle mix - maybe a doodle. Can anyone tell by looking at this picture. This will end up being a 5 hour + drive round trip for me but I'm ready to leave tomorrow to get him if he's a dood. I've called the shelter but they are VERY crowded and haven't been able to identify it as anything but part poodle. It is in N. GA - very near Chattanooga TN

Actually it is down there since I am in Nashville. and yes, I'll be going down there (OMG) tomorrow IF he hasn't found a home by then. I talked to the shelter this morning and he is still there. They have my name and phone number. I told them I couldn't come today (Wed) but can come tomorrow. The shelter said he wouldn't be KILLED yet. They don't have a KILL date on him. They just asked that I call them tomorrow morning before I start out just to make sure someone hasn't adopted him. My husband isn't too happy about the possibility of another critter in the house but he doesn't make too much noise. He knows me.
Oh yes, I forgot you were in Nashville! That isn't too bad of a trip....you must let us know if/when you go down there.

And we need to get our doods together soon since we are neighbors. Peri's breeder has a romp twice a year in Leiper's Fork - do you usually go to that? Sorry to get sidetracked...
We went to the last one! Both Snicker & Harley had a ball. They were so happy to be off leash and to run with other dogs. They loved the little creek. We (my 26 year old daughter) stayed for about 2 hours. Both Doods were worn out but they loved every minute. We plan to go to the next one too. We met Peri's breeder! Course I didn't know she was Peri's breeder. We just knew she was hosting the romp and we met some of her breeder dogs (in crates) and a puppy or two.
Hi Julia - I just sent you a message (it's attached to a friend request, because I can't private message you without us being friends.
Good Luck!
It's a sheepdog......and Lynne is no longer part of DRC......
Whatever his breed is doesn't really matter. It is obvious he is in need of a home and tender loving care. I admire your compassion Julia and respect what you're doing for the sake of a dog in need. I hope that none of us ever get to the point where we won't help an animal in need just because he/she is not a doodle. That would be a sad day indeed. Godspeed in your travels tomorrow Julia and may you call in the morning and find he's already found a loving home. :)
could be a beardie mix from the coloring????
Shelter has sent me more information & a somewhat blurred face picture & video.

Dog is about 30 lbs & between 1-1/2 & 2 years old.

Whatever he is, he's adorable, and looks very friendly!
I agree! He looks adorable and I love the video with his tail wagging and going into a sit. He looks very friendly. Good luck today and keep us posted! :)
