I put Cocoa in her create with out any bedding.   She has torn up 4 beds to far.  The last 2 were old bed spreads I cut and sewed to make a bed, but she ripped a hole in it and was eating the stuffing.  I am scared she is going to choke or get it stuck and need surgery so I no longer give her a bed.  But part of me feels bad for her to have to lay on the hard cold cage floor.  She can not have many toys as well she eats them even the tuff toys so all she has is hard bones and an antler and the antler is even getting chewed up.  Not to mention the hole in my couch, teeth marks on my wall and my poor blankie DH left out when I was gone.

I know we have lots of chewers here so curious as to what you all have to do.

Not mean at all. I've never had a dog like bedding in the crate.  One of my dogs always slept in the bathtub, one went to the basement on concrete floors, and Spud sleeps with his head around the cool toilet  most  nights  :)

IMO--the dog probably prefers the cool crate and tears up stuff to get it out of the way

Major chewer here. Baseboards, door frames, carpet, every kong, antler and indestructible on the market. Could not ever put anything in the bottom of the crate because she found a way to either destroy it or hump it to death. We have lived through it and now, at almost 2, she has not chewed anything in ages and she sleeps out of the crate on the tile floor.

Not mean at all.  I often feel that Rooney gets hot with his bedding in his crate so I will take it out on particular hot nights and he could care less. He loves lying on the tile floor in our kitchen, so obviously a hard floor must not be a problem.

No, not at all mean. When my dog was younger I made sure he had something to chew, naw or do all the time! There have been mistakes (all my fault) where Echo tore open the zipper on his beds then tore the stuffing out. He only gets one or two (max.) stuffed toys at any given time. He still loves to rip them open and tear the stuffing out. If the toy has a squeeker the toy has no hope of survival. I do have a chew resistant crate pad. It cost about $100 and fits his crate exactly! Even now that he is over 2 I don't leave it in his wire kennel. Who knows what he would do if bored.

Himlayan chews, everlasting treats, bully sticks and filled then frozen kongs are just a few of the ways I kept Echo busy. There were also chicken nylabone, deer and elk antlers, and also puppy frozen teething toys. I did rely on "beef cheeks" scented like vanilla but the raw hide part began to worry me. It cost a lot but it was WAY cheaper than replacing carpets, furniture, clothing and the resulting vet bills from an intestinal blockage. Plus the S.O. disagreements over the puppys chewing would not have been good.

How old is she??  My Hartley did exactly the same thing to his bed in the crate when he was a puppy - he destroyed three pretty expensive beds.  From then on until he was well over a year old, all I gave him to lie on was an old towel.  Eventually my husband took pity on him and bought him a new bed.  By then he had obviously learned his lesson and left it alone!!
