Is Your Doodle A Wimp?

It's been hot and humid here for the past few days.  We have a routine where unless it's pouring rain we take the two guys our for a walk through the woods or on our shaded, paved bike path.  On hot days we always try to do it before noon.  Today Murph totally refused to go for a walk.  He did not want to leave the air conditioning....so he was a little reluctant to even get into the car.  When we got to the bike path, he hesitated getting out of the car, but then we started to walk.  He was NOT HAPPY, and kept stopping dead in his tracks, refusing to move and trying to turn back towards the car.  As I gave him a "heel" command he would comply but would again just stop dead in his tracks.  The pavement was shaded, so I know it wasn't too hot for him.  Guinness was "good to go"...no problem there.  So because Murph was so miserable we decided to end our walk....he was ecstatic to get back into the air conditioned car and just go home where he could "veg out" by the air conditioning vents.  WTD?  Do others have wimpy Doodles who hate the heat so much they don't even want to go for their walks?

Same thing with Sasha, Jane...

It's really hot here in South Carolina!

Sasha  loves to be out and about in the early morning and in the evenings...but in the heat of the day...Not So Much!!

To cool off...she will go out and wade in the lake!

Sasha seems to like to get her feet wet to cool off...and if we're out there...she will sit under the gazbo like the "princess" she is...licking on a Big frozen water ice pop that  I make for her!

 

Sure enough...it won't be long before we see her standing on the patio...looking down at us...as if to say...

Mom!!   Won't you Please Let Me In??   It's as  Hot As the Dickens Out Here!!  I want to go inside and lay down on the air conditioning vents...and let the icy cold air blow on me...and take my afternoon siesta!!  Lol...

 

Wimp...Or Princess...not sure which title I would choose...(smile)

 

[Leslie and Halas]

We don't spend a lot of time outside when it's really hot, but Halas is a wimp even when it's just a little hot.  If I think the temperature is reasonable enough to go to the dog park, we'll go.  He'll wander around for a little while, but then just walk from shady spot to shady spot and plop down.  There's one big tree and lots of small trees.  But he can even find the shade from 2 branches of a small tree.  His body will barely fit in the shade, but he'll make it work.
