Okay, this might seem silly, but I just have to brag about my guy!

JD gets pills and supplements before every meal. He doesn't like to take them, and usually "hides" in the corner of the family room sofa when he hears me open the pill bottles. He doesn't fight me, because he knows he has to take them before he can get his food, but I do have to put them down his throat.

For some reason, (probably early onset Alzheimer's) I completely spaced just now and gave him his dinner without having given him his meds. I realized that just as he was beginning to wolf down his food. I opened the pill bottles, thinking maybe I could just place the sweet potato-coated pills in with his dinner, and as soon as he heard the bottle open, he actually stopped eating, came over to me and sat down to wait for his pills!!!!!

I ask you, is he the best dog or what?

So sweet JD! Think he's a pro hey? Just wants to please his mom and do the right thing!

sweet Jack Doodle. He's the best.

Thanks again. He is the best!

What a good boy, Jack. : ). VERY impressive! In the Kendig household we know how you feel about all your meds. No fun!!! Thanks for not giving your Mom a hard time! I hate to say it but your buddy Duke would never do what you did. When he hears the rattle of the paper/plastic covering a syringe, sees me get the meds for his ears, eyes or the spray for his feet he heads for the hills. He was giving me a difficult time taking meds by mouth. I thought they were swallowed and I swear he had them partially swallowed only to spit them out on the floor later. I looked everywhere in his mouth to make sure he swallowed them. He won the battle, he now gets them in a meatball made from canned food. His weekly allergy shots weren't going so well anymore and we had to resort to Dad holding whim while I gave him a shot. I can't tell you how many shots we wasted due to him fighting me. Now I set his food bowl down in front of him and he can't eat it till he gets his shot. I wonder how long this technique will last. Sheba is so good about taking her meds, stands perfectly still when she gets her shots or any other type of med, thank goodness. Your a good boy in so many ways Jack and I can see why your mom is so proud of you. You were such a good boy when Duke was trying to eat your food, dragging all your toys out of your toy box, laying on your couch and stealing cuddles and chewing all your chewys. Do you have any advise you can share on how to turn my problem child into a well mannered gentleman like yourself? : )

LOL, Ann! I thought Duke was a very well-behaved doodle boy, but then i don't have to give him shots or meds!

If it makes you feel any better, yesterday I found one of JD's probiotic capsules on the floor about 30 minutes after I gave it to him. Still trying to figure out how I missed him spitting it out.

Aw, he's just the sweetest! Good job JD!
