Hefty fines and new charges against kennel owner

The owner of the former Almost Heaven Kennel has been fined $152,900 by the state and is facing more than 200 new charges stemming from the raid and closure of the operation last month.
The state Department of Agriculture says it has fined Derbe "Skip" Eckhart for each dog that he kept at the kennel at 4202 Chestnut St. in Upper Milford Township after he exhausted appeals of his 2009 kennel license denial.
Chris Ryder, an agriculture department spokesman, said the department fined Eckhart $100 a day for seven days for all 216 dogs that should have been removed between June 16 and June 23.
In addition, the department fined Eckhart $100 for each of 17 dogs that it says were transferred out of the kennel after June 6 without the state's approval.

Eckhart was charged this week with 216 counts of violating the state dog law because he failed to remove 216 dogs from the kennel after the his appeal period ended, according to a complaint filed at District Court in Emmaus.
He faces an additional 17 counts of violating a cease and desist order by transferring 17 dogs out of the kennel without approval of the state.
Under the terms of his license denial, Eckhart was not allowed to transfer animals without approval of a dog warden.
Eckhart has 30 days to pay the fine, but also has 15 days to appeal the penalty.

Her story keeps changing and then she is calling the rest of us "to stupid, and ignorant" it's TOO stupid, by the way. Go back to her old posts. I don't know anyone who has such daily drama as she does.

Again you have nothing better to do than nit pick...if you think you can just wash out rustoleum paint off a person or a dog..go for it...shows just how intelligent you are...all of your ignorance is really shining right on through that you have nothing better to do with yourselves...And all of DK gets to see this...lol

I really understand how you feel Michele. It did become a back and forth thing but not until some things were said that just could not be ignored and left unanswered. It is a shame that it came to that - I agree with you 100%. The original discussoin started just as an update on the status of the AH owner for there are many of us here who really are interested in what the State of PA will do or not do.
H&H jumped in within minutes of the posting knowing well in advance what her comments would bring to the discussion. She just should have stayed away from this topic. It seems that she just cannot help herself.
No one here in DK likes this but we are all thrilled that you joined us!!!! -

This discussion has gone off on an unnecessary and ugly tangent that has nothing to do with the intent of the topic/update posted by Lynne. Regarding said tangent I'm not interested in who is most right or who is most wrong -- the whole thing is drifting off into something that does not belong on Doodle Kisses. If the parties involved are interested in continuing the argument, please feel free to take it elsewhere (not on DK).

I agree, Adina and I'm sorry I let it go this long. I left for awhile and it was left alone all morning. You're right, this does not belong her or anywhere for that matter. The DRRC has been harassed by this woman over and over. We will ignore her from now on. I am closing it.
