Hefty fines and new charges against kennel owner

The owner of the former Almost Heaven Kennel has been fined $152,900 by the state and is facing more than 200 new charges stemming from the raid and closure of the operation last month.
The state Department of Agriculture says it has fined Derbe "Skip" Eckhart for each dog that he kept at the kennel at 4202 Chestnut St. in Upper Milford Township after he exhausted appeals of his 2009 kennel license denial.
Chris Ryder, an agriculture department spokesman, said the department fined Eckhart $100 a day for seven days for all 216 dogs that should have been removed between June 16 and June 23.
In addition, the department fined Eckhart $100 for each of 17 dogs that it says were transferred out of the kennel after June 6 without the state's approval.

Eckhart was charged this week with 216 counts of violating the state dog law because he failed to remove 216 dogs from the kennel after the his appeal period ended, according to a complaint filed at District Court in Emmaus.
He faces an additional 17 counts of violating a cease and desist order by transferring 17 dogs out of the kennel without approval of the state.
Under the terms of his license denial, Eckhart was not allowed to transfer animals without approval of a dog warden.
Eckhart has 30 days to pay the fine, but also has 15 days to appeal the penalty.

Well Andy and Sharon, guess you will just be disgusted in life...Is My Business...My decissions on what I choose to do with and for my Dogs..the same as you with yours...I dont tell you what to do either way...if I choose to spay her, My Business...if I choose not to spay her...My Business...it is what it is...

Number one...You purchased your first doodle Hannah from Dale Weaver a Mennonite, large scale commercial breeder of over ten different breeds of dogs, who sells to brokers like The Hunt Corporation and is a known associate of Skip Eckhardt's..I don't care what Dale Weaver's place looks like or what his testimonials say...DEEP RUN KENNELS IS A PUPPY MILL..and Hannah was bred from SKIP ECKHARDT'S DOGS...You yourself told me this.....In fact you said it was Skip who referred you to Dale in the first place.....
You never laid eyes on Honey before the day that you went to Skip's with the intention of buying a female doodle for the purpose of breeding and this was well after the historic raid when you already knew everything about that place and that man..so please don't feed us this bull about it being the only way for you to get her out of that horrible place....You wanted a "cheap doodle"...bottom line...and what you got were a bunch of big vet bills.......Number 2. Neither Chris Ryder nor PA Dog Law needed your assistance to prove anything in regards to Eckhardt..They already had 10 plus years of evidence against him and the full support of the HSUS, PSPCA and ASPCA. You chose to make that your story to justify your purchasing Honey and contacted Dog Law after the fact and only after Eckhardt wanted Honey back from you........Tell us...Have you had Honey spayed yet by any chance?...Now that your breeding contract is null and void and according to my sources Skippy said today he is officially "out of the breeding biz?" -

First you are such a liar...I didn't know Skip when I bought Hannah and never told you that at all. 2nd Dog wardens as well as the Dept of PA have the highest reguards for Dale Weaver. In fact one of the Attorneys has a dog from Dale...about 2 or 3 years old, can't say enough about him. You can claim and say whatever, you can try and keep putting words in peoples mouths that never happened. Fortunately today I spent most of my day at the Lehigh County Court House in Allentown PA with them, and had the opportunity of discussing a few matters. Wrong again about my story...lol why was I suponeaed for Court and to the Magistrate's Office, why was I asked to appear in court by their Attorneys if I was not needed there, and if my testimony was not so important why did it save two cases now against them...dont see you sticking your neck out to have gotten dogs out of there earlier. Wrong again about the purchasing of Honey also...you keep ranting and pulling at straws and just maybe one of these days you might get it right. You want to keep twisting everything anyone tells you to justify yourself, that is up to you, As for Honey...she is my dog...MY BUSINESS, NONE OF YOURS! You will never know if she is spayed or not. As for Skippy saying he is out of the breeding business...the state told him that a while ago..lol

Not to perpetuate this thing any further but did this statement just fly right by everyone?.....
WHY any SANE person looking to buy a dog (especially with the intention of breeding that dog) would purposely choose to buy one from a KNOWN NOTORIOUS PUPPY MILL and a KNOWN REPEAT OFFENDER with a 20 YEAR HISTORY of abuse and neglect who was:
- Repeatedly raided for maintaining horrendous unsanitary conditions
- Charged with numerous felony counts of animal cruelty
- Has hundreds of public complaints against him filed with the Bureau of Consumer Protection for selling sick and unsocialized dogs and misrepresenting dog breeds to buyers
- Banned for LIFE from the AKC in 2002
- Did 3 years of prison time in Carbon County Prison for starving 42 dogs to DEATH in 1988

Yep and if someone wrote nasty things about you on the computer and reported you being a scum bag ...do you expect everyone to believe what is written about you, or do think people should judge you by what they see in a person, after meeting them? NO you go around judging books by their covers before you even know what's inside. As far as purchasing a dog for breeding..again that was the only way I could get that dog out of there, if you can't understand it..than that is on you, you were not the one who did the contract and stuck their neck out on line for this dog, I DID. Why did 1000's of SANE people all across the country purchase a dog from Skip...now your calling us all INSANE...Do some people change for the better in life...are they not given a 2nd chance, are you so perfect in your life you have never made a mistake or got your butt into a situation where you needed a 2nd chance...Why were you turned down a job with the PSPCA if you are so perfect? LOL. Why don't they want you, or was that another one of your lies on the phone? I was a very crediable person in court yesterday, according to the Judge...hmmm where were you if you know it all? Seems a Judge had no problem understanding my side of this? In fact it got a Judgement for the State of PA. I wasn't paid to testify either, but I was subpoenaed. If I got Honey to make a fast buck and you want to believe that, than its on you. Again people can say what they want, when they want, it's just meaningless words...whoever wants to buy into this crap, Jacquie has the Brooklyn bridge to sell ya also...lol

First, no one on this or any other forum has ever referred to you as a "scumbag".....We have simply questioned the validity of certain things that you are saying because of obvious flaws and holes in your stories and are defending ourselves against your accusations and posture against us which you are making based on the fact that we chose to ban you from our website and our groups here on DK. The reason that we decided to do this is because having you as a member is a "conflict of interest" given the info that you have provided or failed to provide to us.....We have that right to do this...as do you if the situation were reversed........
You can continue on with your attempts to discredit us and me personally all you like...We have nothing to hide but we do have something that you do not ....Credibility based on action and honesty.....We actually work and work extremely hard to save dogs and to stop the atrocities of the commercial pet trade ....the very industry that you support and help to perpetuate in both purchasing your dogs from puppy mills and by choosing to breed a dog that came from one.....
Why you are trying to ingratiate yourself with various credible rescue organizations at this point is beyond me as well.... -
