Ever since Penny was a puppy, her goal has been to rip open every stuffed toy she has in order to pull out the stuffing and, even more important, pull out the SQUEAKER.  She'll grab a toy, stand on it for leverage, then start ripping away at the toy until it's destroyed.

I learned about Kyjen's "Hide-A-Squirrel" plush toy here on the DK site awhile back, and it is AWESOME.  Practically indestructible.  Now, there's something I love even more, also from Kyjen.  Their "Egg Babies" toys.

You can choose from a variety of toys (we have the dinosaur), which are stuffed with three "eggs," each of which has a squeaker.  The dog works its way in through the elastic hole in the bottom of the toy and removes each "egg."  It's a hoot to watch Penny stand on the toy and go to town like she's really killing it -- only to be removing the eggs from inside.  Toy stays intact, Penny loves it.

The toy is not large, which worried me at first because I thought Penny would be too big for it - not a chance!  She loves it!

The toy also comes with three extra eggs, in case one gets destroyed.

Kyjen has an awesome website, with a short video explaining the toy:

Has anyone else tried this toy?

No, but thanks for the info.
Halas had something similar, but I don't know if it was the same brand. It was a cow (with eggs, go figure). The cow was quickly destroyed, but the eggs are still intact. Halas loves them. He tears up most stuffed animals, but he seems to like these little eggs. The squirrels from his hide-a-squirrel didn't last too long, but I think the fuzzy tails were irresistible to Halas. He just had to destroy them. He liked the cow eggs so much, that I bought him this little stuffed cookie that's about a 2-inch circle, and he hasn't torn that up either. Since he did so well with those things, I bought him a refill pack of 12 squeaky balls that are made for some other type of egg toys. I figure if he plays nicely with the eggs and balls, why bother with the other part of the toy, which he'll only tear up. He'll sit and toss the eggs, balls, and that cookie around for half-an-hour, wanting me to grab them and toss them back to him. It's like 2-inch round stuffed toys fall into their own category with Halas, a special category that does not get destuffed!
Oh, I'll have to look for that! Thanks for the recommendation! I'll let ya know how long it lasts in our household.
